What struck me most is how her name becomes the one thing no one can truly take from her. They can change her identity, her role, her freedom, even the way others see her, but writing “Iryna Kovalenko” again and again becomes a trace against erasure. And the ending is especially powerful because we are never told what became of her: for once, her life no longer belongs to anyone else’s gaze.
